Aaron Perkins

About the Artist

Aaron Perkins is a Brisbane-based artist working predominantly within the medium of painting. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art with First Class Honours in 2018 from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, and is now undertaking post-graduate study.

Perkins is represented by Jan Manton Art where he recently held his first solo show and is a current finalist in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize. He has also been a finalist in the Moreton Bay Regional Art Prize, has curated and participated in a number of duo and group shows throughout the POP, Webb, Project and Grey Street galleries, and has written for In Residence ARI.

Open House Collective is a creative retail, gallery, studio & event space.

Two adjacent shops here with a long presence as diverse creative and cultural spots. Previous tenants have been Box Vintage, Trash Video, Gooble Warming and a lighting showroom. In the 1960s and 1970s some twenty workers were employed here in the Adsett Shoe Repairs factory.
