Jacinta Giles is an Australian visual artist whose practice focuses on destabilising traditional modes of perception to explore the unfixed and disorientating fragility of memory. Producing experimental photo-based images, her work positions the viewer as witness to the transient nature of remembrances, raises questions about the slippery shift between fiction and reality, and pushes the boundaries of traditional notions of photography.
Giles’ work has been exhibited widely, with recent exhibitions in Sydney, Launceston and Brisbane, and an upcoming show in London, United Kingdom, in late 2019.
